(817)752-6581x6367 The V. A. Central Texas Medical Center is seeking
Commercial Owned Commercially Operated (COCO) sources interested in
providing laundry and dry cleaning services for approximately 4,300,000
annual pounds of medical center linen, patient clothing, and employee
uniforms. Separate pick-up and delivery to be furnished to Integrated
Clinical Facilities Temple, Waco, and Marlin, Texas. This includes
holidays as necessary with surgical linen requiring a one day turn
around time and all other linen requiring a two day turn around time.
Processing records to be maintained by the contactor as required.
Chemicals and formulas used subject to review and approval by the VA
Medical Center. Contractor to furnish certificate of professional trade
membership and to furnish textile testing on a quarterly basis.
Contractor to comply with all Veteran Affairs' and JCAHO infection
control and sanitation requirements particularly positive/negative
airflow from clean to soiled areas and to VA sanitation standards in
handling and transporting linen. Contractor facilities must have a
complete physical separation of soiled and clean linen processing
areas. Passing through loading and unloading of washers is required.
Commercially Owned Comercially Operated (COCO) contractor facilities
shall be subject to a formal VA inspection prior to award. Contractor
shall comply with all state laws pertaining to the transport of soiled
and contaminated linen. This synopsis published to determine
availability of commercial laundry service (COCO) for a requirements
contract of one year with four option years. Formal solicitation for
services will be issued only in the event that one or more responsible,
qualified commercially owned commercially operated firms respond
affirmatively to this notice. Responses to the solicitation shall be
subject to Government Cost Comparison to determine economic feasibility
of accomplishing work in house or by contract. Contract award will
depend upon the outcome of cost comparison under the review of Circular
A-76. Firms having the capability tp perform the required work are
invited to submit a statement of interest to this notice within 30
calendar days of publication in the CBD. Such requests SHOULD INCLUDE
a description of the firm's facilities, equipment, management,
personnel, and previous experience in performing work of this or a
similar nature. Please indicate if able to perform COCO and size of
business. This is the first of three possible notices issued to
identify commercial sources interested in performing this service. THIS
IS NOT A FORMAL SOLICITATION. THERE ARE NO SOLICITATIONS AVAILABLE FOR
