502/564-8425. Presolicitation Notice: This agency desires a firm,
fixed-price contract to construct a new Mobilization and Training
Equipment Site (MATES) facility at Fort Knox, Kentucky. The project
will consist of site work for a 25 acre site, site utilities, asphalt
parking, concrete paving, gravel parking areas, concrete foundations,
masonry and steel building structures, nd related electrical and
mechanical systems. The main shop building will be an 88,270 SF steel
frame, masonry structure with metal roofs and built-up roofs. A
separate BII bulding will be a 13,108 SF steel frame, metal sided,
metal roof building with 9,006 SF being small material storage for
items issued with vehicles and weapons vault with IDS systems.
Specialized equipment in the project includes cranes, paint media
blasting systems and vehicle paint booths. All workis to be performed
in strict accordance with specifications and drawings. Performance
period is 2700 calendar days after issuance of Notice to Proceed.
Estimated magnitude of construciton is between $5,000,000 and
$10,000,000. This project is being considered for 100% set-aside for
Small Disadvantaged Business (SDB) concerns. Interested SDB concerns
should as early as possible, but not later than 15 calendar days after
publication of this notice, indicate interest in bidding as the prime
contractor on the project, showing evidence of capability to perform
including references for similar work with contract numbers, points of
contact, telephone numbers and a positive statement of eligibility as
a small socially and economically disadvantaged business concern.
Dollar amount of current construction bonding capacity is required. The
Contracting Officer will utilize the information received to make a
decision to issue this solicitaton as set-aside for Small Disadvantaged
Business or as Unrestricted without further notice. Therefore, replies
to this notice are requested from all interested business concerns as
well as SDB concerns. Replies must indicate the firms' size status,
such as large business, small business, small disadvantaged business or
8(a). The Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) Code is 1542. The
applicable small business size standard including affiliates is no more
than $17 million average annual revenue for the previous three years.
