61 -- BATTERIES, 500KW, 188 CELL, VALVE REGULATED, SEALED, REDUCED MAINTENANCE Sol F05604-95-R7046 Due 091395 Contact Nicolas Samila, Buyer, 719/556-4926/Contracting Officer, Nicolas Samila, 719/556-4926 The Department of the Air Force, Cheyenne Mountain Air Station, Colorado has a requirement for the removal of two existing 188 wet-cell, battery strings and replace them with two 188 cell reduced maintenance batteries. New batteries must meet the following minimum specifications: a. 500KW for 15 minutes. b. 188 cell, valve regulated, sealed, reduced maintenance batteries. c. End volts of 1.60 per cell. d. Float voltage of 430 VDC +/- 3 VDC. e. Lead calcium. f. 20 year warranty. g. Cells enclosed in steel on five (5) sides, stackable to meet UBC seismic Zone four (4) requirements. h. Size of the battery not to exceed 32 feet by 3 feet by 73 inches high. The battery strings to be removed must be recycled in accordance with the EPA regulation by an EPA approved recycling facility. FOB: Destination. This requirement is subject to the availability of funds for Fiscal Year 1996. This requirement will include option to purchase, remove and replace two (2) additional batteries for Fiscal Year 1997. A site visit will be conducted on or about 24 August 1995. Offerors will be required to submit technical proposals for evaluation with detailed information. The government contemplates the award of a firm fixed price contract as a result of this solicitation. This acquisition is unrestricted, open to both Small and Large businesses. Issue date is on or about 14 August 1995. Opening date is on or about 13 September 1995. The required delivery date is 150 days after receipt of the contract award.
