The National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Institute of Diabetes & Digestive & Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) intends to purchase through a Request For Quotation (RFQ) the PERFORMA II PULSED FIELD GRADIENT MODULE (PFG), 10 AMPS 30G/CM. NIDDK intends to purchase this equipment by Other Than Full and Open Competition. The hardware must be completely integrated with the existing VARIAN VXR-500S NMR Spectrometer. The intended source Varian Associates is the manufacture of the PERFORMA II PULSED FIELD GRADIENT MODULE (PFG), 10 AMPS 30G/CM, and also the vendor for the VARIAN VXR-500S NMR Spectrometer. Varian Associates guarantees complete integration of standard software and hardware into the existing Varian Associates current system, for those elements that they provide. The PFG upgrade module must include a gradient amplifier (using transconductance technology), interface card, connecting cables and softwares compatible to the VARIAN VXR-500S NMR Spectrometer for intended NMR experiments to be carried out in H2O media. The gradient amplifier shall deliver a minimum of ten (10) amps and (linear sixteen (16) -bit control) thirty (30) Gauss/cm gradient. The amplifier shall have rise time of twenty-five (25) microsecond to full power (ten (10) percent % -ninety (90) percent %). The gradient amplifier shall provide coil-impedance independent output and shall require no tuning or matching of probe to amplifier. All responsible sources may submit a Request For Quotation, which if timely received, shall be considered by the agency. (See Note 22). It is anticipated that Request For Quotation (RFQ) Number NIDDK-SSAS-95-116, will be available fifteen (15) days after the publication date of this synopsis. Receipt of quotations will be due ten (10) days after the release of the RFQ. The anticipated award date is AUGUST 23, 1995.
