Radnor Chester Road, St. Davids, PA 19087 J -- I-95 TRAFFIC AND INCIDENT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM MAINTENANCE SERVICES.
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) will be
requesting proposals to maintain the I-95 Traffic and Incident
Management System (I-95 TIMS) located along the section of I-95
traversing the metropolitan Philadelphia area. The traffic control
center (TCC) is located adjacent to the PennDOT 6-0 building at St.
Davids, PA. The maintenance services will include, but not be limited
to preventive maintenance, response maintenance, and emergency repairs.
It is anticipated that the duration of the maintenance services will be
for at least 18 months. The I-95 TIMS consists of 12 closed circuit
television (CCTV) cameras, four variable message signs (VMS), TCC, and
T-1 and dial-up telephone lines leased from the local telephone
company. A typical remote CCTV camera location includes a pole-mounted
or sign structure-mounted camera assembly and a ground-mounted camera
control cabinet that houses CCTV, communication, and electrical
equipment. The VMS system includes two clustered light-emitting diode
(LED) and two fiber optic technology based signs. The signs are mounted
on overhead structures and the VMS control cabinets are ground-mounted
adjacent to the sign structures. The TCC consists of two rooms - Room
1 housing operator workstations for CCTV, VMS, and communications
systems and Room 2 housing communications equipment enclosures,
uninterrupted power system, and electrical and telephone termination
equipment. Information for preparing bids is expected to be available
by mid September 1995 for a Fall 1995 bid opening. For further
