The work for this project shall include the construction of an attached single storey addition of approximately 6,100 SF to the existing facility. This addition will utilize inteior steel and exterior concrete columns supporting a BUR system over metal deck, open web steel joists and steel beams. The structural system shall be independent from the existing facility. Interior finishes shall include VCT floors over cocrete slab, a lay-in acoustical ceiling at 15' AFF and painted GWB walls and interior partitions. All other building systems (to include new fluorescent lighting and new 25 ton roof mounted multi-zone unit) will integrate with the existing facilities systems. Site work will be lifted to excavation and recompaction of an existing parking lot to accomodate the additional pad, the relocation of the service transformer and site lighting relocation. The work shall not materially interfere with USPS operations on this site. The Contractor must maintain full building safety systems and utilities to the existing facility. Construction cost is estimated in the range of $400,000 to $600,000. Completion is 180 calendar days from issuance of notice to proceed. Primary evaluation criteria to determine award will be proposal amount; previous owner references; and a minimum of five years experience as a general contractor in similar work. The solicitation package will be available on or about August 1, 1995. There is a non-refundable charge of $40 per solicitation package.
