United States Property and Fiscal Office requires a construction contract to survey the center line of Muir Airfield, Fort Indiantown Gap, Annville, PA, and paint lines and markings on runways and taxiways as shown in the solicitation package. The following is provided: Surfaces receiving paint shall include but not be limited to: taxiways, runways, parking areas, apron and adjacent areas. Painted markings shall include but not be limited to; runway and parking numbers, compass rose, threshold lines, taxi lines, runway center line, pavement signs, and related line work. Edges of all painted markings shall be visibly sharp, with no bleeding onto adjacent pavement. All paints shall be applied so as to deposit a wet film thickness of 15 mils minimum. Paints shall level to a smooth uniform coating free from sags, runs and surface irregularities with no blistering or loss of adhesion, softening, or other deterioration. Spray paint applicator shall be self-propelled, or mobile-drawn. Applicators shall have a speed during application of not less than five (5) m.p.h. Applicator shall be capable of applying marking widths up to eight (8') feet at a paint coverage rate of 100 sq ft per gallon or 15 mil thickness. Paint applicator shall be of the type to accommodate the attachment of an air actuated glass bead media dispenser. A reflective media dispenser shall be attached to the paint applicator and operate automatically and simultaneously with the paint applicator through the same control mechanism at all operating speeds. The dispenser shall provide a uniform flow of reflective media over the full width of the marking at a rate of six (6) lbs per gallon of paint. Estimated price is between $25,000 and $100,000. The proposed contract is 100% set aside for small business. Only written requests for the solicitation package will be honored. Requests may be FAXED to (717) 861-8604. Prospective sources must provide corporate status, federal tax ID number, discount terms, remit to address, and whether disadvantaged and/or woman owned, to be included on the bidder's list. Any response failing to provide the aforementioned data but instead choosing merely to submit their routine request for solicitation will be ignored. Requests must be received prior to 10 days of the bid opening to be honored. BOD is September 7, 1995. Contract performance time is 30 calendar days from notice to proceed. Notice to proceed will be issued within 10 days after award. See Numbered Note 1. (208)
