Wayne McDonald B -- ANALYSIS OF OCCUPATIONAL CLASSIFICATION SYSTEMS SOL
SSA-RFP-95-2550 DUE 093095 POC Mr. Wayne McDonald tel: (410) 966-1323
The Social Security Administration (SSA) intends to release
solicitation number SSA-RFP-95-2550 approximately 15 days after the
publication of this announcement. Proposals will be due approximately
30 days thereafter. The purpose of this requirement is to obtain
research in existing systems and methods of classifying occupations,
particularly in terms of the physical and mental capacities required to
perform the work. These systems must be analyzed and evaluated to
determine their potential applicability to the Agency's plan for a new
disability claim process. The research is expected to assist SSA in
determining whether there exists a standard to describe basic physical
and mental demands of a baseline of work or whether it is feasible to
develop such a standard. If not, the research will assist SSA in
determining alternative processes for applying the statutory
requirement that an individual be unable to engage in any substantial
gainful work which exists in the national economy. The research,
evaluation and other services will be required for a 6-month period of
performance. The applicable SIC Code is 8733 with average receipts not
exceeding $5 million for the preceding 3 years. Parties interested in
receiving a copy of this solicitation must submit a request, in
writing, as expeditiously as possible since the solicitation will be
issued without further notice after considering responses to this
publication. (0209) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0015 19950731\B-0001.SOL)
