B -- CONSULTATION IN ANALYSIS OF LONG TERM CARE SURVEY PILOT TEST AND US E OF QUALITY INDICATORS IN DEVELOPMENT OF A NATIONAL RESIDENT ASSESSMENT DATA BASE. The contractor will increase level of effort in certain tasks of contract number 500-94-0075, University of Wisconsin, Center for Health Systems Research and Analysis, as follows: use of more expert personnel in completing field studies already planned to assess optimum survey resource utilization, provide follow-up analyses on the implementation of the revised survey process developed in conjunction with this contract, increase the resource utilization for field work to analyze the relationship between the Multistate quality indicators and staffing patterns. The contractor will also be responsible for providing consultation on issues related to the development of the national MDS database, nursing home automation, and the use of MDS data by States to generate quality indicators. The contractor will be responsible for establishing a mechanism to electronically distribute MDS data specifications as well as respond to highly technical questions from the nursing home industry and third party vendors. The contractor will also continue efforts to design and develop a data management system and software for State use in conducting quality indicator analyses. See Numbered Note(s): 22. (0209)
