Specialist, Ellen Towe, 314/982-1477. The Bi-State Development Agency
of the Missouri-Illinois Metropolitan Area (Agency) is hereby
requesting bids for the performance of all work necessary for the
placement of the new concrete stair at the MetroLink Union Station
light rail station as specified in the solicitation documents for
Sealed Bid 2085. Copies of the solicitation package can be obtained by
contacting Ellen Towe, 314/982-1477. The work to be performed under
this contract includes rough grading, excavation and backfilling
operations, including the placement of geotextile fabric as needed for
soil stabilization; construction of the new concrete stairs, including
the landings, steel handrails, etc.; trenching where the conduits will
be buried underground and run all of the conduits; performance of all
of the earthwork necessary for the concrete equipment pad(s) and
lighting foundation(s). Perform all finish work, including painting.
Installation of light pole(s) and other lighting systems, including
lamps. Start-up of all lighting systems and testing. Test wiring for
continuity. A 23% DBE participation goal has been established for this
project. A pre-bid conference will be held for all interested parties
on Tuesday, August 15, 1995 at 2:00 p.m. St. Louis time on the
MetroLink platform at Union Station. Bids will be received in the
MetroLink Contracts and Procurement Department of the Bi-State
Development Agency, Second Floor, 707 North First Street, St. Louis,
Missouri 63102 until Tuesday, August 29, 1995 at 2:00 p.m. St. Louis
time, at which time and place the bids shall be publicly opened and
read aloud. Any bid received after the time referred to above will not
be considered and will be returned to the sender unopened. The Agency
reserves the right to accept any bid or any part or parts thereof or
to reject any and all bids. Acceptance of any bid may be subject to
concurrence by the United States Department of Transportation. Any
contract resulting from bids may be subject to financial assistance
between the Agency and the United States Department of Transportation.
