DGSC is now requiring comprehensive asbestos identification surveys of its facilities so a proactiveapproach can be taken regarding asbestos while planning maintenance and renovation activities. The project shall include a work plan detailing the contractors pro posed survey methodology and survey timeline. Conduct anon-destructive asbestos identification survey for 65 base facilities (total of 4,862,597 SF in buildings) and representative surveys of Military Family housing facilities (29 facilities for a total of 44,481 SF) located at DGSC. This survey includes sampling and analysis of suspect asbestos containing building materials (acbm), friable and non-friable. Labeling of all friable or PO-tentially friable acbm found with waring labels or tags, provide DGSC a computer database system of all survey data that can be accessed through the department of DE-fense integrated facilities system management (ifsm), prepare autocad (version 12) drawings that indicate the location and quantity of acbm on building floor plan, etc. All work shall be accomplished in accordance with DGSC specification NO.
