SERVICES (TS), PROGRAM SUPPORT CONTRACT (PSC), AND REQUEST FOR COMMENTS

(PSC) The federal government currently satisfies its intercity
telecommunications requirements through the Federal Telecommunications
System 2000 (FTS2000) contracts. The existing FTS2000 contracts will
expire in 1998. As a part of the continuing, open discussion related to
the provision of telecommunications services to government users in the
post-FTS2000 environment, the government hereby advises interested
parties of the following opportunities to participate in this
discussion. The government intends to release two draft Requests for
Proposals (RFPs) for review and comment: Technical Services (TS) Draft
RFP KEF-95-BN-000A and Program Support Contract (PSC) Draft RFP
KEF-95-TB-000B. The draft RFPs will be available electronically on or
about August 23, 1995. The government plans to release the RFPs on the
Internet. The on-line RFP documents will be available in a plain ASCII
text version that can be easily read by any word or text processor, and
a Microsoft Word 6.0 version that will contain the document with all
imbedded graphics and formatting. You may retrieve the RFPs via the
Internet World Wide Web, at the following site: http://post.
fts2k.gsa.gov. In addition to online retrieval, the draft RFPs will be
available, in limited quantities, on 3.5 inch PC formatted diskettes
in Microsoft Word 6.0 format. Diskettes must be requested in writing.
Requests should include: RFP number, name of requestor and/or firm
name, address, telephone number, FAX number, Internet e-mail address,
DUNS number, SIC Code, and business size (i.e., Large Business, Small
Business, Small Disadvantaged Business, Woman-Owned, 8(a), etc.).
Requests should be forwarded to the attention of the appropriate
Contracting Officer: Barbara Norsworthy, Draft RFP KEF-95-BN-000A (TS)
or Trudi Bailey, Draft RFP-95-TB-000B (PSC) at the General Services
Administration, C/O The MITRE Corporation, 7525 Colshire Drive,
Mailstop Z397, McLean, VA 22102-3481. The government will accept
comments on the draft RFPs through October 10, 1995. Comments may be
submitted electronically to the Internet address of
draft-rfp@post.fts2k.gsa.gov in either of the following two formats:
plain ASCII; and uuencoded representations of Microsoft Word (version
6.0 and earlier) documents. Alternatively, comments may be addressed in
writing (with a copy on 3.5 inch PC formatted diskette in Microsoft
Word 6.0 format) to the appropriate Contracting Officer: Barbara
