COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF AUGUST 2,1995 PSA#1401SMAU `95: IT AND TELECOMMUNICATIONS SHOW IN ITALY The U.S. Department
of Commerce invites U.S. information technology (IT) and
telecommunications firms to participate in the U.S. Pavilion at SMAU
`95, to be held September 21-25, 1995 in Milan, Italy. Held for 32
consecutive years, SMAU is the most important IT and telecommunications
show in Italy and the second largest show in Europe. SMAU `94 featured
2,150 exhibitors, including 800 international exhibitors from 25
countries, and approximately 240,000 attendees, including 5,000
international visitors. SMAU `95 to be held September 21-25, will
feature computer hardware, software, services, telecommunications, and
data communications products. Special emphasis will be given to
CAD/CAM/CAE and computer graphics, multimedia, optical memories,
electronic publishing, desktop publishing, software, global solutions
for public administration, health care, and banking and finance. There
will also be a high-level conference and seminar program. U.S.
companies are invited to participate in the U.S. Pavilion at SMAU `95.
For a $2,850 participation fee, exhibitors in the U.S. Pavilion will
receive a comprehensive package of services, including: a
fully-furnished 9'9'' x 6'6'' booth; prearranged, one-on-one
appointments with potential agents and distributors; translation and
interpreting services; discounted rates on hotel accommodations; a
reception at the Consul General's residence. The 12 participants in the
U.S. Pavilion at SMAU `94 reported first-year sales of $7 million. For
