On or about Thursday, August 3, 1995, the United States Postal Service, Facilities Service Office, 6 Griffin Road North, Windsor, CT, 06006-0300, will issue Solicitation No. 082530-95-A-0089 for handicapped accessibility work at the Main Post Office, 321 Main Street, Wakefield, MA. Sealed offers are due Thursday, August 24, 1995 no later than 4:00 p.m. Work shall be started within ten (10) calendar days after receipt of the Notice to Proceed and completed within sixty (60) calendar days. The estimated cost of the work is between $130,000.00 and $180,000.00. THERE WILL BE NO PUBLIC OPENING OF THE PROPOSALS AND THE RESULTS OF THE ADVERTISEMENT WILL NOT BE PUBLISHED UNTIL AWARD OF THE PROJECT. Work includes but is not limited to construction of upper and lower level ramps, repointing and replacement of certain lower level stairs, construction of a new concrete stair foundation and replacement of the existing end walls of the entry vestibule so they will be handicapped accessible. Work also includes the replacement and relocation of the exiisting unit heater in the vestibule. A Proposal Guarantee is not required. Performance and Paymend Bonds on Postal Service forms will be required from the successful offeror.
