This Command intends to acquire the following equipment and/or services from Bell South Business Systems: (1) cable and terminals; and (2) engineering redesign and installation to reterminate and test controlled circuits from Buildings #1 to Building #27 at the Naval Air Station (NAS) Jacksonville, FL. Bell South Business Systems owns and controls the circuits at the DMARC, the termination point presently providing telephone services to the Navy at NAS Jacksonville Building #1, and as such is the only firm capable of moving them. In addition, Bell south Business Systems is the only source for local telephone service in this area. This proposed contract action is for supplies and/or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with Bell South Business Systems under authority of FAR 6.302-1. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. However, all proposals received within 45 days after the date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received as a result of the notice of intent will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The Government WILL NOT PAY for information received. The applicable Standard Industrial Classification Number is 4813.
