Farrow, (210)617-5151 The Government intends to negotiate with Roche Image Analysis systems, Inc., Elon College, NC, for two Roche Image Manager Ultra Systems. Our Laboratory must have the capability of sending compatible quality digital images of histologic, cytologic and hematologic slide preparations between Kerrville Division and Audie L Murphy Division of the South Texas Veterans Health Care System. This will allow us to provide timely and accurate interpretation of these patient's materials. System must have an extremely high resolution, 36-bit color, digital camera with user-defined resolutions up to 3072 x 2320 pixels; the ability to use Boolean Logic searching using a database for storage and retrieval; and Images need to be sent over regular telephone lines via a 28.8K baud modem. The system also has to be compatible with those of our consulting institutions such as: Armed Forces Institute of Pathology, Brook Army Medical Center, and Wilford Hall Medical Center. All of these agencies use the Roche Imaging System and the only way to have compatibility is for both sender and receiver to have the same imaging system.
