COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF AUGUST 3,1995 PSA#1402``WORKSHOP'' AND ``SPECIALISTS MEETING'', OCT. 1995 The Structures and
Materials Panel of AGARD will hold a Specialists' Meeting on ``Thermal
Mechanical Fatigue of Aircraft Engine Materials'' from 2-4 October 1995
and a Workshop on ``The Design, Qualification and Maintenance of
Vibration-Free Landing Gear'' from 4-5 October 1995 at the Baniff Park
Lodge, Baniff, Canada. The Spcialists' Meeting will review the
state-of-the-art experience in experimental methods as well as
approaches to analytical modeling of damage accumulation and growth in
metallic gas turbine engine material under thermal-mechanical fatigue
(TMF) conditions. The meeting will address impact of TMF in aircraft
engines, test methodologies, TMF damage mechanisms and analytical
modeling/lifting methods. The Workshop will focus on the various
vibration and instability problems that must be considered in the
design of landing gear systems, paying particular attention to the
problems related to vibrations of the combined structural system formed
by the landing gear and the flexible aircraft structure. For further
information, contact the AGARD National Coordinator, Lt Col Stephen
Marino at 703-602-7358, fax 703-607-3158, e-mail to
