30 -- UNFIRED PRESSURE VESSELS SOL N66604-95-R-H240 DUE 090595 POC Contact Mary Jo Nemec, Contracting Officer at (401) 841-2442 X296, FAX: (401) 841-4820 The Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) intends to issue a solicitation on a competitive basis for the acquisition of three (3) Unfired Pressure Vessels with an option for an additional three (3). An overview of the specifications are as follows: 1. The size of the receiver vessel shall be 20 cubic feet (storage capacity) with approximate dimensions of 2 feet dia x 8 feet long. It shall be cylindrical in shape with two hemispheres. 2. The vessel shall incorporate individual base rings and floor brackets for vertical mounting. (Shop drawings of base rings and floor brackets shall be submitted for approval prior to fabrication.3. Receiver shall be rated for 5,000 (min) psi working pressure with a 5:1(min) burst pressure. 4. Receiver shall have one 1-1/2'' inlet socket weld connecting at the top of the flask. 5. Receiver shall have one 1 socket weld connection at the bottom of the flask. 6. Receiver shall have two 3/4'' NPT female connections for test and gauge in the top hemisphere of the flask. The receiver shall come complete with 3/4'' plugs rated for 5,000 psi working pressure. 7. The internal walls of the receiver shall be galvanized. The exterior of the receiver shall have two coats of epoxy paint. The paint color shall be light gray. 8. Shop drawings of the receiver shall be submitted for approval prior to fabrication. 9. Receiver shall come complete with design drawings and engineering design data stamped by a registered professional engineer. Design data shall include calculations for wall thickness, principle stresses, stress concentrations, corrosion allowance, burst strength, factor of safety, etc. 10. The receiver shall be stamped and certified in accordance with ASTM standards. 11. The receiver shall come complete with the below ''Certificate of Shop Compliance'' and ''Certificate of Shop Inspection''. A Firm Fixed Price Contract is anticipated. The level of competition is ''Full and Open'' All responsible sources may submit an offer. Requests must be made in writing, specifying the solicitation number.
