58 -- ACQUISITION OF DUAL BAND RADARS IN SUPPORT OF SURVEILLANCE AND CONTROL SYSTEMS PROGRAM POC James McKenna, Contracting Officer, 617-377-7241. The Directorate of Surveillance and Control Systems (ESC/TN), Hanscom AFB, MA is preparing to initiate the Dual Band Radar (DBR) program and the Government will be seeking a qualified contractor to produce these radar systems. This notice is not an RFP or IFB and is for information purposes only. The objective of the DBR program is to acquire two high power, dual band (X and S) radar systems, capable of detecting, acquiring, tracking, and collecting both high precision metric and signature data on targets of interest. These systems will be deployed and operated in either a land or sea-based mode and will be designed to be air, land, or sea transportable and capable of operating anywhere in the world. MIT/Lincoln Laboratory will design and develop a prototype DBR followed by an industry production contract. Current planning calls for prototype contract award in FY96, with a production contract to follow. To facilitate the dissemination of information ESC/TN will be hosting an Industry Day Briefing(unclassified) on 13 Sept 95 at 0900 hours at Hanscom AFB, and individual follow-up Government-Contractor meetings(50 minutes max), by request, on 14 Sept 95. Each company will be limited to five (5) people. Interested companies must respond to this announcement NLT 01 Sept 95.
