This is a notice of intent to issue a Request for Proposal 5-49701/608 on a noncompetetive basis in accordance with 10 U.S.C. 2304 (c)(1) ''Only One Responsible Source'' to Matrix Systems, 5177 North Douglas Fir Road, Calabasas, CA 91302; 4 each, RS232C 32 X 32, 3- Stage Coaxial Relay Switches, Model 10693. Delivery to Wallops Island is required 150 days after contract award. These switches will be used with the Transportable Oribital Tracking System (TOTS). These switches must provide interchangeability for both the Wallops Orbital Tracking System (WOTS) and TOTS Telemetry Systems to allow quick turnaround for correction of failures. The design and construction of the matrix switch frames and modules are proprietary to Matrix Systems. No other manufacturer is known to have the necessary information and capabilities to provide compatible switches. It is anticipated that the RFP resulting in a contract will be issued on or about August 22, 1995. Any firms desiring consideration are requested to fully identify their capability to supply these switches within 15 days of publication of this synopsis to GSFC/Wallops Flight Facility and the individual above.
