13 -- PAINT BALL AMMUNITION AND BARREL KITS POC Richard I. Sanders, Contract Specialist, 202/324-3318. The Federal Bureau of Investigation intends to negotiate on a sole source basis under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, with SNC Technologies for the acquisition of paint ball ammunition and barrel kits for training purposes. The following salient characteristics pertain to the simunition products that will be procured through this contract-- 1) Product shall utilize a drop-in barrel kit for the Sig-Sauer P-226 and P-228, 2) the barrel shall be designed in such a manner that it will not accept 9mm ball or hollow point ammunition, 3) the barrel shall be color-coded in such a manner that it is clearly identified as special-usage item, 4) ammunition shall be available in 9mm and .38 special calibers, 5) ammunition shall clearly mark it's impact on a target at distance of 20 feet, 6) ammunition must be clearly identifiable by color and shape as marking ammunition, 7) the accuracy of the ammunition shall be point of aim/point of impact at 25 feet, 8) projectile shall not penetrate exposed flesh upon impact, and 9) this product must be in production currently. Shipping is FOB-Destination Quantico, VA-- Delivery of items should be 45 days ARO. Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities or submit proposals but this is not a request for competitive proposals-- However, all proposals received within 45 days after the date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government-- A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is soley within the discretion of the Government--Information recieved will be considered strictly for the purpose of determing whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
