It is the intention of the Bureau of Land Management to extend the existing contract with HFSI to enable continued maintenance services of the Bureau owned Honeywell DPS-8000 mainframe, Honeywell DPS-6 Plus minimcomputers, and Honeywell proprietary software, located in Colorado, Alaska, Arizona, California, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, utah, Virginia, and Wyoming. This is a planned, short-term contract, with a decline in requirements. The extension would be for one-year base period with three six-month option periods. The Bureau of Land Management's Modernization Contract (ALMRS) schedule calls for rehosting the production applications from the Honeywell systems to a new suite of computer systems. The schedule for completing the rehosting is mid 1996 to early 1997. The Honeywell systems are scheduled for release at that time, with earlier release of some of the State DPS-6 Plus systems.
