Specialist, 301/402-3080. The National Insitutes (NIH) has a
requirement to provide patent maintenance and annuity fees for the
protection of inventions of PHS employees in foreign countries.
Countries included, but limited to, are Japan, Canada, Austrailia and
the European Patent Office. Offeror must be knowledgeable of patent
laws in each foreign country. At least 700 active patents are currently
filed throughout the world and in multiple settings (various
countries). A total of 815 payments are estimated per year. Payments
must be made in foreign currency, requiring a native foreign associate
to present the payment. The period of performance is for a one year
basic period with four one-year options. The NIH intends negotiate with
Computer Package, Inc., Rockville, Md. 20852, under the authority of
FAR 6.302-1 for this requirement. This is a not a formal solicitation.
However, firms responding to this notice must furnish concise
responses directed specifically to the requirements mentioned above.
Sources demonstrating the capability to accomplish the above shall
supply pertinent information in sufficient detail to demonstrate their
ability to perform a proper evaluation. Interested parties may submit
adequate detailed data by which to evaluate capabilities to the
attention of Ann Bryant at the address above. This notice may represent
