Jennings, (716)344-3308 Contractor to furnish all labor, materials, equipment, and supervision necessary to perform the renovation work required for Project Numbers 513-041/513-042, Wards A/B Bed Conversion, Bldg. 1, VA Medical Center, Batavia, NY, consisting of Project No. 513-041, Ward B Bed Conversion and Project No: 513-042, Ward A Bed Conversion in accordance with the specifications and drawings. Project work includes, but is not limited to, asbestos abatement, demolition, general construction, window replacement, and various systems, including electrical, fire alarm, HVAC (including Mini-Boiler and Energy Mgt), mechanical, medical air distribution, nurse call, patient wandering control, plumbing, sprinkler, television and radio distribution, and utility. The magnitude of construction is between $2.0 and $5.0 Million. SIC Code 1542 applies. Performance period is 440 calendar days. Bid acceptance period is 90 calendar days. A daily liquidated damages rate of $1,500 applies. All requests for bid packages must be in writing and accompanied by a non-refundable payment of $90.00 in the form of a company check, certified bank check, or U.S. Postal money order made payment to the Department of Veterans Affairs. Personal checks and cash will not be accepted. Planholders list will be provided free of charge in response to written requests. All responsible sources may submit a bid which will be considered. Award of the contract is subject to the availability of funds. Solicitation will be issued o/a 8/22/95 and the bid opening date will be o/a 9/21/95. If the apparent low bidder is a large business firm, this firm shall submit an acceptable subcontracting plan within 7 calendar days after the bid opening. See Numbered Note 3. (0215)
