81 -- STORAGE CONTAINERS POC David Fouche, Contract Specialist, 910/432-7670/Jane H. Sutherlin, Contracting Officer, 910/432-2146. This is a notice of intent to purchase six (6) storage containers using Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The containers will be constructed of corten steel and shall meet ISO exterior dimensions of 40' x 8' x 8'6''. The containers will be finished with a heavy duty silicone alkyd enamel formulated to provide superior gloss and color retention with a finish coat color of Desert Wind or equivalent. The containers will have three roll up doors equally spaced on the same side of the container. The framing for the doors will be steel tubing 2'' x 3'' mitered on the top corners and welded to the container with finished dimensions of 3'6'' Wide x 6'6' H. The roll up doors shall be constructed of 26 guage corrugated steel with double plated corrosion resistant lock mechanisms. The doors are to be mounted on the steel tubing inside the container with corrosion resistant steel door guides. Threshold plates of treated 2'' 'x 6'' lumber beveled on each side or equivalent shall be installed at each of the three door openings to reduce the possibility of moisture in the container during a storm. The door color will be the same as the finish coat provided on the container. The two dividing partitions will be constructed of 26 guage corrugated steel painted white on both sides and shall be installed so as to provide a barrier between areas. No sharp edges are to be exposed. Each container will be equipped with an overhead passive ventilator for each of the three areas. These units will be installed in a workman like manner so as to minimize or eleminate moisture with may be blown in during a storm. Interested parties should identify their interest and capability by submitting complete technical and pricing data within 15 days of publication of this notice. Responses to this notice will be considered for award using Simplified Acquisition Procedures. Failure to provide adequate information to reflect compliance with all specifications contained herein will result in disqualification. No solicitation will be issued as a result of this notice.
