D -- INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY ARCHITECTURAL SUPPORT SERVICES DUE 082395 POC Contact Point, CAROL FAGNANI, (202)260-1338, Contracting Officer, CAROL FAGNANI, (202)260-1338, Additional Contact, FAX, (202)260-9930 Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) intends to modify its information technology architectural support contract 68W80083 with DynCorp Viar & Co. of Fairfax, Virginia. Contract modification is to extend the period of performance by three months to January 31, 1996 on a sole source basis. The dollar value of the contract remains unchanged. DynCorp Viar & Co. is the only responsible source that can meet EPA's requirement to provide continuity of support until a follow on contract is awarded. The contractor will continue to provide a variety of FIP on going long term support services, including information architecture planning, system design, system evaluation,acquisition support, telecommunications planning support, and capacity planning. Representative support activities of EPA's information architectural infrastructure include: (1) support electronic data interchange initiatives; disruption of support would damage compliance with Paperwork Reduction Act; (2)modernization of systems for the Office of Water; (3) Office of Mobile Sources system modernization to support amendments to the Clean Air Act (1990); (4) support of information security on Internet; (5) support requirements analyses, specification development, technical evaluation of proposals, and other areas of technology procurement; disruption of support would delay award of critical ADP technology procurement; (6) support development of multiple major application systems by application environments, applicable data base technologies, and applicable development tools; disruption of support would delay projects and possibly result in uncoordinated and inefficient application development. The support will be provided primarily to EPA offices located in the Washington, DC area and Research Triangle Park, NC area.
