J -- CONVERSION OF R-12 TO R-134A OF ''HAMPDEN TRAINERS'' SOL DABT57-95-Q-4101 POC Pat Niles, Purchasing Agent, (804)878-3805 or Yvonne Turner, Contracting Officer, (804)878-3100; Fax (804)878-2904/2712. This procurement is for supply and services on Army Watercraft of the Elimination of Chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) and Hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs) to bring the equipment installed in the Army watercraft fleet into compliance for the conversion of R-12 to R-134A of ''Hampden Trainers'' for the following models: H-CRT-1 (12 ea); H-IRT-2 (2 ea); H-ACD-1 (1 ea); H-RST-3 (6 ea); and H-ACTK (4 ea). Work on site; Remove R-12 refrigerant (approx 95 total lbs), store in proper DOT container and return to Government; Properly remove and dispose of compressor oil at his expense IAW local, state and federal EPA laws and regulations. Using proprietary technical information, determine which instruments, metering devices, compressor oil, sight glass, filter/dryer, receiver, condenser, evaporator and compressor as needed to be replaced; Properly install the instruments, metering devices, compressor oil, sight glass, filter/dryer, receiver, condenser, evaporator and compressor as needed to be replaced; Using correct procedures, test the system to assure gas tight integrity; Eliminate any leaks or other discrepancies; After system is proven gas tight, recharge system with R-134A and leave ready for intended service IAW manufacturer's specifications; Properly dispose of old components at his expense IAW local, state and federal EPA laws and regulations; Performance period not to exceed thirty (30) days. This is a Sole Source Procurement, the Government intends to purchase and for services from Hampden Engineering Corporation, PO Box 563, East Longmeadow, MA 01028.
