ASSOCIATION OF OLD CROWS 32ND ANNUAL INTERNATIONAL ELECTRONIC WARFARE TECHNICAL SYMPOSIUM AND CONVENTION POC: AOC Convention Department, (703) 549-1600. The AOC will conduct this annual event 10-13 September 1995 at the Washington Hilton and Tower's Hotel, Washington, DC. The Convention Chairman will be Glenda Garrison, Manager-Washington Operations, Northrop Grumman. The convention will begin Monday, 11 September, with complimentary tutorials on topics such as EW Simulation, Military INMARSAT Applications, Advanced Digital Receivers for EW, Communications Jamming Primer, Synaptic Antennas and POD Supported Aiborne EW Training. Professional development sessions will also be offered complimentary on Monday, including one presented by the Retired Officers Association. The technical symposium (fee required) will kick off on Tuesday, 12 September. The chairman for the symposium is Sal Cuomo, General Manager EW Division, Westinghouse Electronic Corporation. The keynote address will be given by The Honorable P. Noel Longuemare, Principal Deputy Undersecretary of Defense (Acquisition and Technology). Mr. Longnuemare will address the U.S. acquisition priorities, policy changes affecting the field of EW, and the potential for future government-to-government cooperative programs. Session One will focus on U.S. Export and Releasability Policy. Presenters include Mr. Dave Tarvall, Director, Defense Technology Security Agency, who will give the U.S. Perspective on Arms Transfer/Sales and on the Military Technology Review and Control Process. Air Commodore Bruce Wood, RAAF Air Attache, will give the Australian Perspective on the Challenge of Meeting Their Sovereign Needs and Priorities in Today's World Market. Mr. Jim Woody, Defense Technology Security Administration, will serve as the session chairman for session one and will give a briefing on the U.S. International Release Process. The session will close out with presentations from Lt Col Braum de Riders (Netherlands Air Force) and the United Kingdom giving their views on Problems in Acquiring Electronic Warfare Equipment. Session Two will present the Future of U.S. Electronic Warfare as well as a series on briefings from DoD and the services on future EW capability to successfully execute assigned missions. Presentations will address self-protection, suppression of enemy defenses, and electronic support. The OSD Perspective will be presented by Mr. Anthony Grieco, Deputy Director, Electronic Warfare, USD (A&T)S&TS-EW, who will also serve as session chair. The U.S. Army Perspective will be presented by Brigadier General Charles W. Thomas, Commander, Ft. Huachuca. U.S. Navy/Marine presentation will come from Colonel Nolan Schmidt, NAVAIR, and the U.S. Air Force perspective will be presented by Colonel John Booher, SAF/AQPE. Session Three will be chaired by John ``Rusty'' Porter, Rus Porter Associates. It will address the process used to determine the military worth of current and future EW systems. The role played by the COEA in making acquisition decisions in electronic warfare as well as the Measures of Effectiveness (MOE) utilized to determine their value will be discussed. There will also be an update on the current status of modeling and similation requirements and the test and evaluation process employed for today as well as plans for improvement. As always, there will be three days of complimentary state-of-the-art exhibits and demonstrations featuring the latest equipment the EW industry and government has to offer.
