Solicitation Notice: This project was originally synopsized as a ''Sources Sought'' under Solicitations No. 263-95-B(HC)-0225. This requirement will solicited as full and open competition. The title of the project is now changed from ''Renovate Single Story Barn and Outdoor Paddock Areas'' to ''Building 100 Renovation, NIHAC, Poolesville, MD''. Work consists of interior and exterior selective demolition, salvaging, renovation and alteration activities in a partially occupied animal facility. Approximately 40,000 square feet of exterior stall areas and approximately 4000 square feet of interior barn and support areas are in the scope of work, which includes underground utilities, concrete, architectural, plumbing, HVAC, fire protection sprinkler and alarm, electrical and equipment (laboratory and animal stall). The renovated Building 100 will meet American Association for Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care (AAALAC) standards. The estimated cost range of the project is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. The period of performance is 210 calendar days from the date of receipt by the Contractor of the Notice to Proceed. Qualification Factor: Responsive contractors shall have completed at least three AAALAC accredited projects of similar dollar size, complexity and nature completed within the last five years, including cost and duration dates. Standard Industrial Code (SIC) 1542 is applicable to this requirement. Plans and specifications are available for a non- refundable cost of $41.00. (Only money orders, certified checks, or cashier's checks made payably to NIH will be accepted.) Personal or company checks will not be accepted unless they are certified. The Pre-Bid conference was scheduled for July 25, 1995 at 10:00 a.m. The bid opening date is scheduled for August 23 at 2:00p.m. Also note that in addition to the base bid, there is one option for a 125KW Emergency Generator as identified via amendment.
