334-293-2232, or 334-264-1820. The Federal Prison Camp, Maxwell Air
Force Base, Montgomery, AL proposes to make a single award, on a
firm-fixed-price, commission-only basis, for the provision of on-site
coin-operated laundry machine services for eighteen (18) commercial
washers and dryers. The initial contract period is from date of award
through September 30, 1996, with four successive 12-month option
renewal periods, running from October 1 through September 30 of the
respective years. Successful contractor must be able to provide an
emergency response time of four (4) hours for repair of machines and a
24-hour response time for replacement of damaged or inoperable
equipment; shall service the equipment a minimum of once weekly and
have the capability to increase the frequency of service if downtime is
excessive; and shall be able to install the machines thirty (30) days
after award. Selling price for one load of laundry shall be no higher
than $0.25, and selling price to dry one load of clothing for one hour
shall be no higher than $0.50 for the initial 12-month period.
Contractual duties will include: installation at contractor's expense
of six (6) commercial-grade washers and dryers per housing unit, for a
total of eighteen (18) washers and dryers; servicing of such machines
at least once weekly to ensure that machines are operative; and
submission of a monthly itemization of activity which includes a total
of cycles ran per machine, amount of monies collected, and commission
due the Government from sales. For more specific information detailing
the responsibilities of this contractal position, refer to Sectin C of
the solicitation package. Detailed security investigative procedures
will be required as ountlined in Section H of the solicitation package.
