AM for a pre- recorded message that will be available the day after
scheduled bid opening. The work includes replacement and closure of
existing underground storage tanks (UST's) located at Barksdale Air
Force Base, to bring identified (UST'S) into compliance with the Code
of Federal Regulations, 40 CFR 280 and 40 CFR 281. A support building
and fueling stands shall be demolished, fuel dispensers shall be
replaced, a loading and unloading pumping facility shall be
constructed, and new double wall underground tanks and piping shall be
installed. Existing tanks range in size from approximately 1,000
gallons to 25,000 gallons, and will be closed per Louisiana Department
of Environmental Quality closure requirements.The proposed acquisition
listed herein is being considered for 100% Set-Aside for Small
Disadvantaged Business (SDB) Concerns. Interested SDB Concerns should
notify this office in writing, Attn: Code 0212RS of their intention to
bid the project as Prime Contractor as early as possible but no later
than 23 AUG 95. This notification must include a positive statement of
eligibility as a small socially and economically disadvantaged business
concern, evidence of capacity to obtain required bonds and specific
information which demonstrates the capability to perform projects of
this complexity and magnitude. Complete information concerning
management experience in similar work and financial status should be
submitted with references. If adequate interest is not received from
SDB Concerns, the solicitation will be issued on an unrestricted basis.
In either event, an amended synopsis will be issued indicating
set-aside decision, Bid Opening Date and cost for plans and specs.
Estimated cost is $1,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00. Estimated duration
of the contract is 285 calendar days for completion from date of award.
