D -- MAINTENANCE OF INTEL MODEL XP/S 15 PARAGON SUPER COMPUTER AND SOFTWARE SOL 52RANR600006 POC Daniel R. Gomez, (303) 497-5133 The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, Environmental Research Laboratories, Forecast Systems Laboratory is seeking qualified sources who can maintain an Intel Model XP/S 15 Paragon Super Computer. Support is to include on-site personnel, hardware maintenance, and software maintenance. On-site personnel requirements include, but are not limited to: 1) One, on-site, resident Parallel Systems Engineer (PSE), 2) On-line access to internal Intel support databases specific to the Paragon Supercomputer (to aid in problem diagnosis and reporting), 3) Access to system source code specific to the Intel Paragon Supercomputer and engineers that maintain/update the code, and 4) Successful completion of Intel training courses related specifically to the hardware, software, and operating systems maintenance of the Intel Paragon Supercomputer. Hardware maintenance requirements include, but are not limited to: 1) Field hardware upgrades. Spare parts (to be supplied and purchased by the company). A spare parts supply is to be maintained on-site, 2) 24 hour replacement of parts not covered by the on-site spare parts inventory, 3) Factory repair facility for catastrophic failures, 4) Factory telephone support and technical assistance Monday through Friday, 8 to 5 local time available to the on-site PSE, 5) Scheduled PMs, and 6) Continuous effort problem solving with escalation. Software maintenance requirements include, but are not limited to: 1) Telephone support and technical assistance Monday through Friday, 8 to 5 local time available to the on-site PSE, 2) Software Field Change Orders, 3) Periodic software releases and documentation updates of maintained software, and 4) Maintained software includes, but is not limited to: Paragon OSF/1 AD Operating System, C Compiler, BLAS Library, NWS batch management, MACS accounting, Paragon Diagnostics, ParAid Debugging Tools, TCS/IP, NFS, Single System Image Facility, Parallel File System, Programming Build and Runtime Libraries and System Diagnostics. Intel Corporation, 15201 N.W. Greenbrier Parkway, Beaverton, Oregon 97996 is considered to be the only known qualified source for this maintenance. In the absence of other qualified sources it is the intent of the Government to negotiate a sole source contract with Intel for a period of one year with four one year option renewal periods under ''other than full and open competition'' procedures, pursuant to 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1) - only one responsible source- and 40 U.S.C. 759(g), as amended. Interested concerns must submit a written qualification statement to clearly establish their ability to meet the above requirements.
