The Air Force Nonappropriated Fund Purchasing Office requests information about commercial sources who are able to furnish cable television programs to two Air Force bases in South Korea. The system, in general, would require a system of approximately 77 channels, including a local information programming channel for each of the bases, for 5,000 individual outlets at Osan AB, Korea and to 2,500 individual outlets at Kunsan AB, Korea. The firm providing the service would be required to furnish all plant, labor, tools, materials, equipment, supervision and programming to provide the service including the new head-in at both bases, and the complete distribution systems and programs. The firm must also comply with all Federal laws and rules promulgated by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and the laws and rules of the country of South Korea. This may involve rules on the use of Korean contractors in the installation of such a system. This is not a notice of the availability of a request for proposal (RFP) but only a request for information. The potential exists for a ten year contract. To respond, furnish descriptive literature or other data to arrive at the above office not later than 18 August 1995. No response will be forthcoming to the respondents of this notice unless a solicitation is issued. This is a nonappropriated fund requirement and does not involve appropriated funds of the United States Government. These funds are generated by the military community through the sale of goods and services and the collection of fees and charges for participation in military community programs.
