The Federal Prison Camp, Maxwell Air Force Base, Montgomery AL proposes to make a single award, on a firm-fixed-price, requirements basis, for the provision of on-site leisure time activities instructor services. Session length for provision of services is three and one-half (3 1/2) hours, and it is anticipated that four (4) sessions per week will be utilized, if available funding permits. The initial contract period is from date of award through September 30, 1996, with four successive 12 month option renewal periods, running from October 1 through September 30 of the respective years. Successful contractor must have a minimum of two years verifiable experience in one of the following areas: sports officiating; hobbycraft; woodworking; teaching in a vocational, hand-on environment; or parks and recreation. Contractual duties will include provision of oversight and instruction to inmates enrolled in various hobbycraft and leisure time programs; monitor, document, and provide instruction to inmates on proper and safe usage of flammables, toxic materials and machinery; serve as an official for various recreational activities, such as softball, basketball, football, tennis and other related outdoor activities; provide oversight and instruction in the use of weights and other fitness equipment; and document for reporting purposes participation in activities, use of materials, and other relevant data. For more specific information detailing the responsibilities of this contractual position, refer to Section C of the solicitation package. The required schedule for performance of services is Thursday through Sunday, inclusive of Federal holidays, from 5:30 pm to 9:00 pm. Detailed security investigative procedures will be required as outlined in Section H of the solicitation package and will include, but not be limited to, a urinalysis, fingerprinting, NCIC check and five-year verification of employers and law enforcement action.
