(301) 443-1301 The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) is
soliciting proposals from qualified organizations having the experience
and ability to synthesize authentic and standardized research compounds
including both unlabeled compounds and compounds labeled with
deuterium, tritium, carbon-14, and iodine-125 isotopes. The types of
compounds to be synthesized include cannabinoids, unnatural opiates,
narcotics, stimulants, depressants, hallucinogens, opiate antagonists,
receptor ligands, designer drugs, cocaine and cocaine metabolites and
related compounds. NIDA Drug Supply Program has played a major role in
these contributions by providing to the drug abuse research cpmmunity
a wide variety of authentic and standardized research compounds, and
this contract is to assure the supply of a large number of ultrapure
compounds that are thoroughly characterized and that the service to the
research community is unterrupted. The Offeror must possess the
necessary expertise, laboratory space, instrumentation, and experience
in the synthesis, purification, storage and distribution of these
compounds. Offerors must submit, with the proposal, evidence of
application or possession of a Drug Enforcement Administration
Researcher Registration for Schedules I and II controlled substances,
as well as the capacity to obtain an DEA Schedule I and II
manufacturing, importer/exporter and distributor's registration by the
time of award. It is estimated that a five- year incrementally funded
cost-reimbursement type (completion) contract will be awarded with
five additional one-year option periods. This is a follow on
procurement to contract NO1DA- 1-7311 with Research Triangle Institute.
Estimated issuance date of RFP No. NO1DA-6-7054 is August 31, 1995, and
responses are due to be received in the Contracting Office 45 calendar
days thereafter. Written requests for copies of solicitations will be
honored if received within 35 calendar days after issuance of the
solicitation. Requests received after this period will be filled on a
first-come, first-served basis until the supply is exhausted. However,
there is no assurance that copies requested after the 35th day will
reach the requestor before the due date for receipt of responses. Only
written or facsimile requests for this RFP will be accepted. Please
