COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF AUGUST 14,1995 PSA#1409FAA Technical Center, Contracts Branch ACM-510, Atlantic City
International Airport, NJ 08405 A -- PASSENGER BAGGAGE FLOW MODEL TOOL SOL DTFA03-95-R-00042 DUE
092895 POC FRANK KOSKER, CONTRACT SPECIALIST, 609-485-6911. The Federal
Aviation Administration (FAA), FAA Technical Center, has a requirement
for the development of a Passenger Baggage Flow Model (PBFM) Tool. The
purpose of the PBFM is to analyze the dynamic behavior of landside
queuing in realistic airport environments to pinpoint the operational
impacts of security systems. The PBFM will support the replication of
an existing airport and simulate the processes, passengers, and baggage
flow within the terminal. The tool will model alternative airport and
security screening configurations and procedures so that operational
impacts can be compared and evaluated. The primary PFBM Tool objectives
are summarized as follows: a. Graphically depict floor plans of an
existing airport and model the processes through which passengers and
baggage flow within the terminal. b. Enable user to analyze the dynamic
behavior of queues that may form in the airport with an emphasis on
security screening stations; and c. Optimize airport security by
identifying those configurations that achieve a high level of security
with minimal operational impact and compare and evaluate the cost
benefits of each configuration. This is a full and open competition
procurement. The Solicitation/Request For Proposal number is
DTFA03-95-R-00042. Anyone interested in submitting a cost/technical
proposal for this requirement must submit their request in writing to:
Frank Kosker, FAA Technical Center, Contracts Section, ACT-131,
Atlantic City International Airport, NJ 08405. Please state the
Solicitation Number in your written Request For Proposal. (0222) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0006 19950811\A-0006.SOL)
