The Alaska Area Native Health Service intends to negotiate with Transcare Medical Services, Inc., on a sole source basis to continue ambulatory and wheelchair assisted patient ground transportation between the Alaska Native Medical Center (ANMC), other health care facilities, and Anchorage's airports until approximately the Spring of 1997. The Alaska Native Medical Center is schedule to relocate to a new replacement hospital at that time. Ambulatory and wheelchair assisted patient ground transportation will be revaluated once ANMC relocates. The contract will include an option for a second year. This action is taken pursuant to the authority of 41 USC 253(c)(1) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1. (220)
