On or about Thursday, August 10, 1995, the United States Postal Service, Facilities Service Office, 6 Griffin Road North, Windsor, CT, 06006-0300, will issue Solicitation No. 082530-95-A-0097 to re-roof the Middlesex-Central Customer Service/Warehouse facility located at 74 Main Street (Route 28), North Reading, MA. Sealed offers are due Thursday, August 31, 1995 no later than 4:00 p.m. Work shall be started within ten (10) calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed and completed within sixty (60) calendar days. The estimated cost of the work is between $350,000.00 and $550,000.00. THERE WILL BE No PUBLIC OPENING OF THE PROPOSALS AND THE RESULTS OF THE ADVERTISEMENT WILL NOT Be PUBLISHED UNTIL AWARD OF THE PROJECT. There will be a preproposal conference held on site beginning at 2:30 p.m., Thursday, August 24, 1995 to discuss the specifics of this project. Attendance is not mandatory but is strongly suggested. Work includes but is not limited to providing all labor and materials for removal of the existing membrane roofing and insulation; removal of designated roof items and capping off designated roof penetrations; partial replacement of existing steel metal decking; replacement of existing gutter and downspouts; and installation of new roofing system, including rigid insulation, protection board, membrane roofing and flashing and coping.
