Leal (505) 766-3645 (Site Code DACA47) This project consists of the removal and disposal of two aboveground storage tanks: one 138,500-gallon storage tank and associated piping, and one 102,200-gallon storage tank and associated piping. Both tanks are cylindrical and once stored Jet-A aviation fuel but are now empty. There is no gross fuel contamination of the surface soils either surrounding the tanks nor within the fenced fuel storage area. There are no overhead powering within the fuel storage area, and do not appear to be any access or work restrictions created by locations of existing utilities. The contractor and all subcontractors shall certify that they possess the appropriate skills, experience, and competence to perform the work, and all practices and procedures shall comply with OSHA Construction Industry Standards, 29 CFR 1926; OSHA General Industry Standards, 29 CFR 1910 (including, but not limited to, 29 CFR 1910.120, Hazardous Waste Site Operations and Emergency Regulations; USACE Safety and Health Requirements Manual, EM 385-1-1; USACE 1993 Removal of Underground Storage Tanks, EM 1110-3-178; and all other applicable federal, state, and local regulations. Finally, the contractor shall possess a written site-specific safety and health plan, conforming to the requirements contained in 29 CFR 1910.120(b)(4), and designed to protect onsite personnel, the environment, and potential offsite receptors. The contractor shall complete the work under the scope within 35 working days from receipt of order. The estimated construction cost is less than $50,000.
