S -- TRASH AND CO-MINGLED WASTE REMOVAL SOL IFB 646-1-96 DUE 092595 POC Contact Point, Janet Leuthold, (412)365-5422, Contracting Officer, Janet Leuthold, (412)365-5422 Contractor shall furnish all labor, material, equipment and transportation to remove sanitized medical waste co-mingled with miscellaneous trash, debris, and rubbish etc. for the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center at University Drive C, Pittsburgh, PA 15240 and at Aspinwall Division, Delafield Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15215. Services shall be provided according to schedule, with the provision for services on an as-needed basis. Both Medical Centers have in place Government-owned San-i-Pak Mark VII Sterilizer/Compactors with Shredders. There are 2 40 CYD compactor containers for each location, which will be rotated by the Contractor on scheduled hauling days; contractor is required to store second container between hauls. All services must be accomplished in strict compliance with PADER Municipal Waste Management Regulations. Contractor must provide an executed Form 35 (Request for Approval to Dispose of Processed Infectious or Chemotheraputic Waste) indicating PADER approval of Disposal Facility for acceptance of processed medical waste, or an equivalent approval authority must be provided if disposal facility is outside of PA. Contract period is from October 1, 1995 through September 30, 1996, with the Government Option to Renew for two additional one-year periods. Solicitation package will be available o/a August 25, 1995. Requests for solicitation must be in writing and addressed to Janet Leuthold, Contracting Office (90A), Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, 7180 Highland Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15206. Bids will be publicly opened o/a September 25, at the Highland Drive Medical Center (above). This procurement is open to both small and large businesses, and award is subject to the availability of funds. A 90-day bid acceptance period will be required. (0223)
