COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF AUGUST 16,1995 PSA#1411325th Contract Squadron, 501 Illinois Avenue, Suite 5, Tyndall AFB, FL,
32403-5526 42 -- DUAL OR MULTI-SPECTRUM DETECTION SYSTEM Contact Tsgt Louis
Williams, Contract Specialist, 904-283-8618, fax 904-283-3963,
Christopher D. Stiller, Contracting Officer Sources Sought. 1. Dual or
Multi Spectrum Detection System consisting of: Sensors (IR/UV or Multi
Spectrum IR) 2. High Speed Control Panel 1, Mounting Brackets 2, On
site installation, training, and shipping. Detectors are required for
research and development testing and shall be virtually immune to false
alarm sources to include lightning, vehicle headlights, vehicle
infrared light, welding, motors, chopped light, radiation heated,
incandescent clear glass and frosted light, sunlight, red dome lights,
ambient light extremes, bright colored clothing, lit cigarettes and
matches. Detectors shall be capable of sensing a munitions burn from
the following types of propellant sources and relay a signal to a
control for processing in 2-5 milliseconds. Sources (or similar)
include: delay mixture F/M53, delay mixture F/M731/M692, M49a1 trip
flare ignition mixture, 1-136 ignition mixture, M126A1 red star
illuminate mixture, M583 40 MM white star illuminate mixture, M128
green smoke mixture, M195 green flare mixture and LA-17 IR decoy flare.
The high speed control panel shall be completely compatible with the
detectors with the ability to process a signal from the detectors in
less than a5 milliseconds and activate explosive devices/activators.
Detectors shall be approved by UL or FM or military specifications for
such applications as armored vehicle explosion suppression systems. 2.
Explosion suppression system consisting of Two zone control unit 1,
10-30 liter HRD extinguishers - varies, Explosion activator 2, Mounting
Bracket 1, Reconditioning Kit-1, Spreader 2. Explosion suppression
system is required for research and development and will be the primary
extinguishment/suppression component of an Ultra High Speed Fire
Protection Deluge System. System will receive a signal from a control
panel that has processed a ``detection'' signal from a burning
munitions propellant sample. The explosion suppression HRD
extinguishment tanks shall be capable of withstanding operating
pressures from 750 psi to 2200 psi and shall dispel water or an
extinguishing agent via activator. Activated burst disks in
microseconds. Reconditioning kits will consist of burst disks,
activators, screens, etc., to refurbish the system for follow on
testing. System shall comply with pertinent safety and explosive
regulations. (223) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0391 19950815\42-0001.SOL)
