M -- MAINTENANCE AND MANAGEMENT OF GENERAL PURPOSE FACILITIES DUE 091595. Point of Contact, Bernard L. Ayers, Contracting Officer, 509/376-8601. The Department of Energy, Richland Operations Office, is requesting expressions of interest from organizations that are capable of providing Facilities Management and Maintenance Services at the Hanford Site in the state of Washington. There is approximately 1,900,000 square feet of general purpose office, shop, laboratory and warehouse space on the Hanford Site. General Purpose space is defined as that space of which less than 60% is occupied by one specific program. No facilities identified for the purposes of this summary statement of work contain radiological contamination. There are approximately 835 government owned and 300 leased (mostly mobile trailers) facilities located on the Hanford Site. Maintenance in many facilities is routine. Maintenance and upgrades in other structures is consistent with aging (45-50 year old) government owned facilities. Management activities of facilities on the Hanford Site will have to include everything associated with planning and projecting future uses/needs/requirements of the facilities. Management activities include forecasting and planning organizational office moves; executing the moves; providing customer service and guidance for office modifications; as well as organizational planning for the use of general purpose space and interfaces with the owners of the facilities (DOE, GSA).
