Applied Technologies operates the Mound plant for the U.S. Department
of Energy under prime contract number DE-AC24-88DP43495. The purpose of
this project is to install isokinetic sampling equipment and
radionuclide monitors on five exhaust air stacks. Some of the sampling
and monitoring equipment will be Government Furnished Equipment (GFE).
Construction will include the demolition of some nuclear ductwork;
installation of new nuclear ductwork; two sampling/monitoring
instrument sheds; A/C system for instrument sheds and one existing
room; S.S. sample tubing down stacks and through buildings; telephone
and electronics wiring; power distribution; construction of safety
ladders and stack maintenance platforms on three of the stacks. Some
construction work will be at 200 foot elevation. Some work will be in
radiological control areas. Note: This is a 100% set-aside for small
business concerns. Percentage of work by prime contractor: 25%. SIC
Code: 1541. Period of performance: 180 calendar days. Estimated cost
range: $750,000 to $1,000,000. Solicitation available 09/21/95. Bid
