Z -- US POSTAL SERVICE IS ISSUING RFP'S TO PREQUALIFIED CONTRACTORS FOR DESIGN/BUILD CHILLER/COOLING TOWER REPLACEMENT, RICHMOND, VA P&DC Sol 415046-95-A-0636 Due 090895 Project Manager, Edward Lenart, 215/931-5417, Purchasing Specialist, Diane Cavuto, 215/931-5488 The Postal Service is issuing Request for Proposals for design/build of the chiller/cooling tower replacement at the Processing and Distribution Center, 1801 Brook Rd, Richmond, VA 23232-9998. It is intended to award a fixed-price design/build contract for the replacement of the existing two 500 ton chillers and roof mounted cooling tower, including condensate and chiller water pumps, valves, strainers, and miscellaneous connectors and electrical disconnects with three 350 ton chillers, new roof mounted cooling tower, valving, etc. and new electrical disconnects. Project completion is within 150 calendar days from Notice to Proceed after award. The construction cost is valued between $475,000.00 and $525,000.00. The three prequalified firms are: The Austin Co., 5109 Leesburg Pike #201, Falls Church, VA 22041-3208; Coakley & Williams Construction Co. Inc., Maryland Trade Center, Ste 1600, 7500 Greenway Center Drive, Greenbelt, MD 20770 and Turner Construction Company, 4601 N Fairfax Ave., Ste 900, Arlington, VA 22203-1500. Plans and specifications will be provided to the prequalified firms only. Subcontractors must contact the firms listed. Offers will not be publicly opened. The Postal Service reserves the right to reject any or all offers. Until award of the contract, the number of proposals received, the identity of the offerors, the amount of any offer or the relative standing of offers will not be disclosed.
