Provision of all labor, materials, equipment and supervision to provide restoration and refinishing of approximately 4,000 square feet of American Black Walnut paneling, 2,500 square feet of walnut case work, and 500 linear feet of walnut cornice work, located in the U.S. Department of the Interior Main Library Reading Room, which was damaged by steam. Work shall require stripping of existing varnish finish and refinishing with a penetrating oil stain. Work shall be performed during normal working hours, 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with an alternate after work hours, 5:30 p.m. to 2:30 a.m., if the office functions are distributed. Also, work shall require some scaffolding which will be provided by the contractor. Period of performance shall be 60 days from the date of award. Solicitation to be issued on or about August 28, 1995. Walk-through will be scheduled one week following issuance of solicitation; specific date to be announced. All responsible sources may submit a proposal for review and consideration which conforms with procedures outlined in the Historic structure report and supplementing instruction. Competency of offeror submission shall be required as part of the proposal. Telephone requests for the solicitation will not be considered.
