16 -- LOW BAND RF JAMMER POC Contact, Wilma Washington, Phone (703)604-6100 The Naval Air Systems Command plans to competitively procure seven (7) Engineering Development Models (EDM) of a Low Band Transmitter for use with the EA-6B Prowler Aircraft AN/ALQ-99 Tactical Jamming System (TJS). The new transmitter must install in and interface with the current ALQ-99 Pod and be fully integrated with the ALQ-99 TJS. To support effective long range jamming, the transmitter must perform the functions of accepting low level Band A/B Radio Frequency (RF) signals from the ALQ-99 Pod Exciter, amplifying signals to a high power level, and effectively radiating signals through its antennae. The development effort is scheduled to begin after source selection in the second quarter of fiscal year (FY) 1996. Release of a Draft Request for Proposal (RFP) is planned for fourth quarter FY 95; release of final RFP is planned for first quarter FY 96. Requests for the RFPs should be made by 25 August 1995. Interested sources are invited to comment on the draft RFP requirements, schedule and any other pertinent elements of the planned procurement; comments must be provided, in writing to the Contracting Officer by 22 September 1995.
