70 -- MODIFICATION TO EXISTING USPS CONTRACT SOL 102590-93-B-3814 POC Melicent Nhan, Purchasing Specialist, 202-268-4124. The United States Postal Service (USPS) intends to modify the subject contract with Syntrex Technologies Inc. to add maintenance support for 13 Netframe systems located in 13 locations nationwide. The contract is for one base year and two one-year options. The descriptions of the items are: Network mainframe (00450FT), substitute 64MB ECC memory board (22), substitute dual 2.2GB 3 1/2'' live drive high speed disk array (58), Netware v3.11 software kit (250 user) (01004A), autoranging power module (02500A), I/O processor/E board (Ethernet) (02100A), 550MB 3 1/2'' live drive (02419A), 5GB 8MM live drive tape backup kit (02431A), client/server upgrade (02200A) substitute 32MB ECC memory for application processor (10), 32MB ECC memory for application processor (02251A), Netframe NF250FT network mainframe 486/50MHz CPU, 8MB ECC memory dual I/O processors, multispan for Netware (00250FT), substitute 64MB memory board (OPT22), sub dual 1.0GB 3.5'' live drives (OPT 57), 8MM tape backup kit (2.2GB), Netware v3.11 software kit (50 user) (01006A). This is a notice of intent to acquire through an existing postal contract; therefore, no solicitation documents exist. The USPS will modify the contract or make an open market purchase order based on the responses to this notice in accordance with USPS regulations and policies. Interested parties are invited to submit a written response with 15 calendar days after publication of this notice which must include pricing, technical data sufficient to determine capability to meet the entire requirement, if applicable. The USPS shall be the sole determiner regarding the offeror's ability to meet this requirement. Responses to this notice will be used to determine whether bonafide competition exists. If no affirmative written documentation, technical specs, pricing, etc. are received within 15 calendar days after publication of this notice to the effect that a comparable source is available of that it is more advantageous to the USPS than purchasing from the above cited contract, a modification will be made to the above contract.
