Officer: Paula K. Maggard. Fiber optic cable, armored, single mode, for
outside plant applications, must meet rea-90 requirements. Includes
thermo-plastic buffer tubes for transportation of fibers at splices,
each buffer tube shall contain 12 fibers, 48 fibers total. Central
strength member shall be non-metallic, unless otherwise addressed by
the cable design. Additional fillers will be provided to maintain the
symmetry of the core, optical parameters are as follows: mfd at 1310nm:
8 to 10.3 um, maximum attenuation at 1310/1550 nm: 0.5/0.3 db/km, max
dispersion (1285-1330 nm): 9.5 ps/km, zero dispersion wavelength: 1311
+/- 11 nm, max slope at zero dispersion wavelength, 0.092 ps/nm*km,
cladding diameter: 125 +/- 2 um, cutoff wavelength of cabled fiber
shall be less than 1250 nm, nominal weight: 215 +/- 15 kg/km, max cable
od 14.4 mm, min. tensile strength of 600 lbs(2700nw) Siecor P/N:

bid, which shall be considered. Sources responding to this synopsis
must indicate, in writing, whether they are large or small,
disadvantaged or women-owned business. Only companies who provide all
required information will receive a copy of this solicitation. For this
synopsis, a concern will be considered small if its number of employees
does not exceed 1000. No telephone requests. Only written requests
received directly from requester are acceptable. An Ombudsman has been
appointed to hear concerns from offerors or potential offerors during
the proposal development phase of this acquisition. The purpose of the
Ombudsman is not to diminish the authority of the program director or
contracting officer, but to communicate contractor concerns, issues,
disagreements, and recommendations to the appropriate government
personnel. When requested, the Ombudsman will maintain strict
confidentiality as to the source of the concern. The Ombudsman does not
participate in the evaluation of proposals or in the source selection

contacted with issues or problems that have previously been brought to
