ROCKLEDGE DR MSC 7902, BETHESDA MD 20892-7902 65 -- GAS HYPERPOLARIZATION SYSTEM SOL NHLBI-PS-SP-95-137 DUE 083195
POC Deborah Coulter, Purchasing Agent, (301) 435-0366 Debra Hawkins,
Contracting Officer, (301) 435-0366. The National Heart, Lung, and
Blood Institute intends to purchase a Gas Hyperpolarization System,.
The instrument should produce 20 liter-atm polarized Xenon in 12 hours
without user intervention. It should include vacuum pumps, water
coolers, and power supplies. Include necessary cold traps for Rb
trapping. There should be a simple built in Nuclear Magnetic Resonance
(NMR) device to measure and display the polarization of the gas.
Should require a maximum of 220 volts. GHS should have a 1/4'' and a
1/2'' outer diameter output ports for the gases. The outputs should
have a flow/pressure control regulators that are plastic or other
nonmetallic material. It should employ diode laser arrays for
polarizing the gases. It should have adequate magnetic shielding so
that it can operate with 10 feet (10 to 50 gauss field) of the imaging
machine. It should include a two year (after acceptance) warranty that
covers parts and labor at no additional cost. The contractor and
subcontractor responsibilities and commitments must be explicitly
stated in the quotation. For example, if the contractor or
subcontractor has agreed to support the initial GHS sites in terms of
needed software and hardware upgrades (e.g. MRI coils) without
additional cost, the all terms of the contractor/subcontractor
agreement must be explicit. It is anticipated that Request for
Quotation (RFQ) Number NHLBI-PS-SP-95-137, will be available 15 days
after the publication date of this synopsis. Receipt of quotations will
