99 -- POTENTIAL SOURCES SOUGHT INFRARED ILLUMINATOR LIGHT POC Bill Harris, Contracting Officer, (513) 255-3022. Air Force has a requirement for Infrared Illuminator, slowpulse light not visible with naked eye, light visible through a night vision device, must be concealable. Lights must be compatible with Generation III night vision viewing technology. The following are minimum capabilities that must be met by the contractor: 1. General Specifications - 1.1. Must provide infrared illumination in either a continuous or pulsed mode. 1.2 Light emitted must not be visible to the naked eye. 1.3 Must provide sufficient illumination that a target may be clearly viewed at least 50 feet away. 1.4 Must be easily concealable. 1.5 Must be battery powered. 1.6 Must not weigh more than 4 ounces (without battery). 2. Durabililty - 2.1 Must be water resistant. 2.2 Must be resistant to dust and humidity. 2.3 Must function with the following temperature range: 0 degrees Fahrenheit to 130 degrees Fahrenheit. 3. Safety - Must be safe to use and environmentally sound. 4. Warranty - Must be guaranteed by the contractor to be free of all defects in material or workmanship for a minimum of three (3) years. To be considered qualified, offerors will be required to have demonstrated corporate experience in successuflly manufacturing the product. Interested firms should submit technical data and brochures that specially discuss the above capabilities to ASC/RAKP Attn: Bill Harris, 2640 Loop Road West, Wright-Patterson AFB, OH 45433-7106 not later than 18 September 1995. After technical evaluation is completed contractor could be contacted to provide a sample unit for review and evaluation at no cost to the government.
